Building Time

WHAT? I punched in the nails in with a hammer and put the seat in 

SO WHAT? I learned how to nail in nails easier, the easier thing was putting the seat in, the harder thing was putting the nails in.

NOW WHAT? next week I am going to bring tools and sandpaper if I can.

Pre-reading task

Description: in Troy's reading group I am reading EsioTrot. This pre reading task you have to predict what's happening in the title,cover (front and back) & the blurb.

Title: I found out that EsioTrot spells tortoise backwards,why isn't it called tortoise not EsioTrot 

Cover: maybe the tortoise is EsioTrot there is scales maybe the man looks after EsioTrot with Lettuce leaves and a tortoise snatcher and also there is 2 tortoises

Blurb: it says that the man is called mr hoppy he loves his neghibour who loves her tortoise named Allie Mrs. Silver asked mr hoppy if he knew how to grow Alfie can he find a solution and be happy

Pae Tamariki Portfolio Post

Description: Pae Tamariki is a Maōri festival in Palmerston North. Primary schools dance and sing to the guitar and preform on Friday 31st July and its part of the Maōri culture.


Big idea:
At Pae Tamariki, I felt nervous,excited 

I felt most proud of doing the haka 

I found the haka challenging because because I have to raise my voice 

I managed this challenge by not raising my voice to much

At Kapa Haka, I next want to be moving into the front row

Pop Art Portfolio post

Description: in class every Thursday we do pop art or drama.I am in pop art. Pop art was popular in the 1950's. It is art with bright,contrasting colours. You vivid on the pencil and its eye catching. 2 artists are: Andy Warhol who did Campbell's soup and Roy Lichtenstein.

Big idea: we made our pop art by: choosing a logo/badge and making a stencil I chose the Arsenal badge and tracing it four times like my image. Make sure you have four separate boxes. Now what
you need is to add the detail and paint with bright colours.

Production post

Description: in class we have been making costumes for production RSS have been looking at ōra (life), poutama have been looking at emelemts, heroes and villains and out of Africa. I'm in elements with Troy we have to choose out of : Fire,Water,Earth and Air, I'm fire.

My next goal is: To finish the papier-mâché layers and paint the mask and paint the circle on my smock and attache my flames to a shirt and paint flames on the tip of my shoes 

This is my finished garment.




1) The materials that I used to create my garment were: corigated card,paper mache,card,tape and material

2) The most challenging thing about production for me was: the smock because I was painting most sides and had to wait for it to dry then paint it again 

3) One way I demonstrated a growth mindset during production was: when I was painting and I wanted to stop but I didn't 

4) Something I am really proud of about production was: my mask 

5) Our school vision is to create agency, creativity and excellence. I showed this by: making everything look creative and I worked really hard on it

 Description: in reading you are either summarising or questioning, I'm in questioning so we can do an option of 9 different activities I chose the awnser is iPad we had to do 10-20 questions I only did 10 because I got stuck on questions.




Big idea:

I did 10 questions because I got stuck on questions to ask about iPads and I got distracted and off task to getting 20 done in the end I think I could of done 20 questions if I was on task and not distracted

KapaHaka Portfolio Sample

Description: After lunch at 2:00pm on Mondays I go to KapaHaka some people stay in poutama and learn E te reo at KapaHaka we get to choose to go to KapaHaka or ete reo we also learn some songs and Nic plays the guitar for us.


At kapahaka I enjoy singing and dancing in Maori.

I am most proud of  learning Maori songs they way I don't learn things.

I find the actions challenging because sometimes I muck the actions up and I have to change quickly.

I am managing this challenge by going to KapaHaka every Monday.

A personal goal for me is to know more words by my self singing.

Our school wide focus this term has been around showing excellence. I show this at kapahaka by telling the little kids not to do what they are doing wrong and telling them what to do.

Description: In Eb's writing group we are looking at words we have all made a story about a ball of choice and writing about what it's like being that ball, I chose a soccer ball.

The life of a ______ ball.

Ouch my leg got kicked from an Arsenal player as hard as they could from the keeper up to the other team on accident but it was a header and we headed back and won the ball. Now they are kicking me well they call it dribbling but it still hurts OUCH!!! They finally kicked the ball away AHHH the nice lime green and dark green striped field until suddenly someone stopped me and dribbled Jeff up the field that's my name Jeff. Well Jeff isn't having a good time on the soccer pitch its been 89minutes out of 90minutes I get booted up to the goal box almost I get dribbled up to the penalty dot and hit the top right corner cross bar off the post and in the goaly didn't even attempt to go for the ball he thought it was going to go out the ref blew the full time wistle and the score was 5-4 in the end. It's not so bad being Jeff the soccer ball after all.

Reading Portfolio Smaple

Description: In reading my goal is comprehension, we have been looking at visualizing and connections like text to text,self and world we also have to book two workshops on Monday,workshops for 30 minutes.this is the success criteria: text to text,self and text to world is something that is happening in the world that is in the piece of text you are reading.

Once there was an abandoned train station it looks pretty scary but also quite cool at the same time imagine what you could do with all that yourself wouldn't that be pretty awesome but it is rusty and dusty the doors will be broken and the trains don't work.there was rusty trains as well.

Every week we learn about skills and movement that will help us play sports. This term’s focus has been around defense. We made a video showing some of the goals we have been practicing. I have highlighted the thing I think I have done well YELLOW and one thing I would like to work on PINK.

Te Ahu a Turanga Noho Marae

Description:  In week 7, we had an overnight stay at the local Marae in Woodville.  We were immersed in Maori culture and participated in a range of activities.  We set two goals to focus on during our stay.

Big Idea:  
1.  Did you achieve your goals?  How do you know?Yes and I know that because I did sleep for 9hours and 50minutes and I did to work as hard as I could 
2.  What are you most proud of from the marae stay and why?Ti ti torea because it was a bit challenging but fun as well
3.  What challenged you the most and why? Ti rako because it was tricky and it I couldn't to it properly yet

Math's Knowledge Test

My Swimming Goals T1 2015

Description:for the next 5 weeks we are swimming 3 times a week.We are we want to set a SMART
goal so we are focused when we go swimming.

SMART goal: I am going to improve my freestyle technique by: brushing my arm like a windmill and kick above the water with my head under the water by swimming sports by practicing every day.





Evaluation:I think I did great and I accomplished my SMART goal in the time I had and I could work on just getting to the end because I could almost reach the end but I can't yet
